Yoga and Emotional Balance Course - Starting this Sunday
Join me for a nourishing mix of yoga, emotional regulation techniques, self-inquiry based journaling and radiating heart.
Last week I travelled west to visit my dear friend and South West Coast Path companion. Our few days together were spent pouring over maps, scoping out campsites, confirming our decision on the best local ice cream, and paying a visit to our favourite secluded swim spots where we shared the water with curious selkies .

We are busy hatching a plan to share the magic of our adventure last summer by inviting you to journey with us on a stretch of this wild, windswept, westerly path once more. Watch this space…
In the meantime, I’d love for you to join me this Sunday to begin the first week of the next Sunday Unwinding Club. (The course was due to start last week, but is now beginning this Sunday 26th May - so there’s still time to sign up!)

Sunday Schedule
Week One - A pairing of head and heart
Sunday 26th May 7:30 pm - 8:30 pm
Did you ever watch the TV show Charmed as a kid? It’s about three sisters with magical powers, one of whom, Piper, has the power to stop time in her surrounding environment and change the outcome of future events - pretty cool, right?
During our first Sunday session, we’ll learn a technique that enables us to push pause on our inner world, giving us the chance to change our habitual reactions and widen our perspective.
Week Two - It’s all about energy
Sunday 2nd June 7:30 pm - 8:30 pm
Our inner experience over the course of each day includes thousands of thoughts, feelings, and impressions that directly impact our energy levels. Just how the type of food we eat affects our energy and general wellbeing, so do our mental and emotional diets.
How can we learn to be observant and catch ourselves when we're thinking and feeling in ways that drain us?
How can we adopt attitudes and perspectives that give us a boost?
How might we face difficulties with equilibrium, neutralising our reactions and come back to balance?
Week Three - Beginning to understand emotions
Sunday 9th June 7:30 pm - 8:30 pm
Emotions are the soundtrack to the movie of our lives. Imagine waking up early for a dawn walk to watch the sunrise and not feeling moved by the awe inspiring beauty of the sky. Emotions have this wonderful ability to enrich our lives, but they can also cause a lot of damage when they run rampant.
The word ‘emotion’ derives from the Latin verb ‘to move’, and one way we might think of them is energy in motion. What if I told you that the energy of these emotions travel faster than thought, that our feeling world operates at a higher speed than the mind?
“Scientists have repeatedly confirmed that our emotional reactions show up in brain activity before we have time to think. We evaluate everything emotionally as we perceive it. We think about it afterwards.”
Doc Childre & Howard Martin, The HeartMath Solution
If our emotional history and reactions can be triggered unconsciously and bypass our mind’s reasoning process, is there something other than the mind we can use to change our emotional patterning?
This is where the heart comes in, heart coherence can help balance our emotional state and help us access our intuitive intelligence.
Week Four - Luminous Hearts
Sunday 16th June 7:30 pm - 8:30 pm
Feeling loved and cared for, along with caring for others around us plays a huge role in our health and longevity.
We’ll unpick a technique designed to amplify the power of our hearts and all the qualities that come with it like love, courage, care, and compassion to name a few.
How can we strengthen the communication link between our heart and our brain?
How can we learn to sustain a state of emotional balance and healing, so that we can begin living from a new baseline of increased coherence, and live lives influenced by the intelligence of our hearts?
FAQs
I didn’t participate in the last Unwinding Club, is it ok to join this series? Yes, of course. There are no prerequisites, and it would be wonderful to have some new faces join us. We cover fresh content each time, so both repeat and new members are welcome!
I’d like some guidance on the sliding scale pricing option. Choose to pay between £25 - £55 for the entire course. How much you pay might depend on any number of factors: including your income, your perceived value of the course, if you’re experiencing financial hardship, or whether you’re in a position to pay a little extra to support others etc.
For example you might value a weekly package of an online live Sunday session, pre-recorded yoga class and downloadable guide at £12, which would be the equivalent of £48 for a four week course. You may value things differently, or it may be that your personal circumstances dictate what price is affordable for you (eg a supported price of £25)
The important thing is that you have access to techniques as well as an increased understanding of how to manage your emotional, physical and mental wellbeing.
How it works: After selecting the course and entering your details, click ‘Add A Pay What You Want Amount’ between £25 - £55.
Sometimes I can find group speaking and sharing intimidating. Although we gather together in a group, the work in this series is self explorative and you are encouraged to record your findings in a journal. There is no pressure to share publicly (although we welcome contributions if you feel called to).
Can I join as a complete beginner to yoga? Yes! All of the yoga will be composed of gentle movements suitable for beginners and more experienced practitioners alike. The pre-recorded sessions will be a little more challenging than our Sunday evening sessions, but with a little practice, you’ll soon find your feet.
What if I can’t make one of the sessions? Sessions will be recorded which means if you can’t make it for any reason, I’ll send you the practice video and inquiry prompts to do in your own time.
How do I find the Zoom link?
The scheduling system will automatically send you an email that includes the meeting link. I believe each session will have its own Zoom meeting link so be sure to click on your most recent email each time.
Do I need to have my camera on with Zoom?
Choose whatever makes you feel most comfortable. Whilst it is wonderful and connecting for me to see your face at the beginning, I understand that you might feel more comfortable during your yoga and writing practice by creating more privacy and switching off your camera.
Do I need to bring anything?
Journal and a pen.
Find a comfy padded space to practice, whether that’s a yoga mat, folded blanket, or carpet.
Soft support - cushions, folded blankets, and a bolster may be useful. If you don’t have a bolster you can use a sofa cushion, or try stuffing two pillows into one pillowcase.
Make a ritual of it by lighting a candle, sipping a warm drink or perhaps using a diffuser for some aromatherapy.
If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to reach out.
Much love,
Camille
